Mr. Cannavale is a registered patent attorney with experience in patent and trademark law, and related licensing issues. His practice is focused in the electrical, computer, medical devices and mechanical arts including preparation, prosecution, licensing, TTAB proceedings and litigation. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for filing, both domestically and internationally, in network data and voice transmission protocols, routing and switching devices, semi-conductor circuits, optical devices such as fiber optics, lasers, and laser components, LCD’s, medical devices such as arterial grafts, stents, hypodermic syringes, and a wide range of mechanical devices. Mr. Cannavale is associated with the firm as of counsel.
Mr. Cannavale has counseled clients with regard to protecting intellectual property in the United States and internationally including formulating IP protection strategies, IP licensing, opinion drafting and has represented individuals and corporate clients in patent, trademark and copyright litigation matters. Mr. Cannavale served as senior IP counsel for Ricoh Americas Corporation from 2007-2009 and worked as a software engineer for Allied Signal Aerospace Corporation.
Mr. Cannavale holds a B.A. in Economics from New York University, a B.E.M.E from Stevens Institute of Technology and received his J.D. degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
